Relief membranes

Explosion membranes relieve containers and channels in the event of a dust explosion. This relief makes it possible to ensure the controlled management of an explosion so that injuries to people and damage to buildings are avoided.

Relieving injuries to staff and damage to equipment

The membranes control and determine the direction of the explosion and can divert the blast wave to safe areas. In this way, injuries to people and damage to equipment are reduced considerably.

Relieving losses of production

If there has been an explosion in a channel or container, the membrane must be replaced. Fitting is easy and can be quickly established after an accident, minimising waiting times and thereby losses in production.

Relieving your expenditure

Explosion relief and fire insulation are supplied to meet the exact requirements. This means that all systems can be relieved and divided off regardless of the present design and this considerably reduces the costs of establishment.

Fire shutters

A fire shutter that can maintain a reduced pressure of 1.4 – 2.2 bar, depending on the size, is inserted on the material side. During normal operations, the shutter is kept open by means of the flow of air. In the event of an explosion or a flare-up in the plant, the shutter is closed by the blast wave and restricts the development area of the explosion.

Ventex valves

The Ventex valve has been pressure tested to a maximum of 10 bar and is inserted on the clean air side. Activation can be either mechanically or electronically. Double-acting valves are also available so as to block explosions from both sides.

Explosion pots

Explosion pots are used to direct or reverse an explosion in a pipeline.
The explosion pot is manufactured with a roof lead-in so that the explosion is diverted out into the open air.

Fire dampers

We have several types of fire dampers for fitting into walls or roofs. They are inserted wherever there is a need for a BS60 fire separation. The fire dampers ensure a free flow in the damper and are, therefore, suitable for materials handling.

Slide gates

The rapidly working slide gates are often inserted on the material side. The slide gate closes in just a few milliseconds and ensures – during normal operation – full flow.

Rotary sluices

Safe-Vent supplies explosion- and fireproof rotary sluices.

In our range, there are rotary sluices for many different applications. Our sluices distinguish themselves by being cast in one piece and being able to withstand persistent low/excess pressure up to 2 bar. They are designed with many different varieties of rotor types and blades.
